What does our community look like through the eyes of us? Come find out.
Somali-born, Toronto-based photographer Abdi Osman, whose work is deeply influenced by his experiences as a black, Muslim, gay male, invited the Charlotte LGBT community to take part in the Queer Reclamation of the Queen City Community Outreach Project. Funded by the Charlotte Lesbian and Gay Fun, disposable cameras were given to participants and they were asked photograph local people, places and icons they feel deserve recognition. Osman will use these images as the basis for a commemorative, limited-edition print, which he will then make available to the community.
We love the McColl Center! Our last event, we had over 1,300 people attend and it was truly a special night.
Drink specials and other pertinent information will be announced. We will also have informal modeling from one of our favorite stores, Jordanos.
